Increase_reach_Facebook

I know I’m probably late to the party but I’ve been testing out a new way to increase our reach on Facebook over the last two weeks. What do I mean by that?

Basically Facebook now throttles down the natural reach of your photos or comments (How many see your posts) on your Facebook page to the point now where you really need to pay to get decent reach to your audience. There has been a seismic shift in the way the social media game is played. (I wrote more about that here) Continue Reading…

Sheduling-social-media-tools

Time management is essential in my role as a social media community leader. That means that my team and I have to schedule some or all of our posts. It doesn’t mean that you don’t engage with our audience though. I recently wrote more about the pros and cons of scheduling your social media which I highly recommend you read before you dive into scheduling. Continue Reading…

Today I want to share with you seven useful tips that will help your open rates go off the charts. They are so simple, yet so powerful and will help your audience engage with you and open your email, rather than hit the delete button.

Church-website-responsive-3

We live in a generation where the average American spends 23 hours a week online, and as much as 40 minutes a day on Facebook (Social media accounts for 18.8% time spent online). It is probably similar if not more for Australians and anyone in mobile centred countries.

As we all spend more time ‘on the line’ (Thanks Internship) we have to understand that people checking us out for the first time, or even members of our communities or cause, are interacting with our website and social media ever hour of every single day. Continue Reading…

Technology-matters

I’m a communicator. I love getting the message ‘right’. I love even more seeing the ‘return on the investment’ unfold before my very eyes. I get a lot of satisfaction in seeing the analytics roll-in as people respond to a message I’ve helped shape and share.

Twitter_reach_header

Have you ever wondered why your tweets aren’t reaching as many people as you thought they would? Do you wonder why some seem to reach more people than others? There have been times when I’ve written a blog post like this one that I thought would add amazing value to the effectiveness of a church’s social media strategy, but for some reason when I tweet it out it doesn’t spread as far as I had hoped. Helping churches improve their communications has always been at the heart of why I write this blog. I’ve served as a Communications Director now for seven years. I’ve been blogging now for around four years and shared many insights or tips on what I’ve learnt. Recently I’ve leaned heavily into the sharing what I’ve learnt in the social media space. But today I want to write just for the auditorium experience. Continue Reading…
